Mentis Engineering took part in Electra Mining Africa 2026 in Johannesburg, South Africa, presenting its industrial gas generation and compressed air treatment solutions. Held at the Johannesburg Expo Centre, Nasrec, on 7–11 September 2026, the exhibition brought together industry participants from mining, manufacturing, energy and automation.
The product groups presented by Mentis included PSA oxygen generators and PSA nitrogen generators. On-site gas generation is an important option for facilities assessing their gas supply model, storage requirements and operational continuity together. Selecting a suitable system involves more than nominal capacity: required purity, delivery pressure, changes in instantaneous flow and the daily operating profile all matter. Mining and industrial production projects need these requirements assessed alongside actual site conditions.
The desiccant dryers presented at the exhibition address moisture control in compressed air. Activated carbon towers serve a different purpose, adsorbing oil vapour within an appropriately designed air treatment train. Required pressure dew point, inlet temperature, operating pressure and contaminant load should therefore be assessed together. Combining complementary treatment stages allows the feed air requirements of gas generators and the air quality needs of production processes to be considered as part of the same system.
Mentis also presented mixed-gas laser cutting solutions for the controlled blending of nitrogen and oxygen. Assessing a gas mixture requires consideration of the material, sheet thickness, laser machine operating limits and desired cut surface. Mixing ratio, pressure and flow must be considered together. Suitability should be established against the machine manufacturer's requirements and through application trials.
Participation in Electra Mining Africa 2026 enabled Mentis to present its oxygen, nitrogen, air treatment and laser cutting gas solutions together. For a new investment or an upgrade to an existing facility, assessing gas generation, drying, filtration, storage and control requirements together supports a more consistent technical specification. Mentis welcomes technical discussions with industrial operators, mining facilities, laser cutting companies and regional business partners about their project requirements.
For a technical assessment and quotation from Mentis, share the gas type, required flow and purity, operating pressure, site location and operating hours. Combined with information about your existing system, these details provide the basis for evaluating a suitable solution.
